Richard "Rick" Milam has deep domain expertise in phosphate industries problems, process and project engineering, aerospace, drug development, machining and fabrication, R&D, and consumer products.

Rick has developed a number of ideas for ultra-high purityphosphoric acid for dopable iron phosphate and 2nm semiconductor etching, REE recovery from phosphogypsum with radium vitrification, chlor-alkali process improvement, silicon anode improvements, and more.

These are just the start. The breadth is not accidental. It is the product of operating at Layer 3.x — where each problem solved reveals its connections to the next, and where the frontier is a starting point rather than a destination.

David Dean has spent 30+ years doing one thing at high levels: identifying high-potential ventures, building the commercial infrastructure to scale them, and delivering results.

From C-suite leadership at Anthem to building pharmaceutical and consumer product companies from the ground up, his career follows a consistent pattern — taking complex opportunities in heavily regulated industries and turning them into scalable, revenue-generating businesses.

David leads go-to-market and commercial strategy for 5 Layers Deep. His background spans Fortune 500 partnerships, government agency relationships, financial services, SaaS, and venture-stage evaluation — the full commercial stack required to move a technology from patent to market.
